Birmingham's 1st Homicide Victim Of 2020 Is 32-Year-Old Woman

A shooting in East Birmingham Sunday resulted in Birmingham's first 2020 homicide.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A shooting Sunday in East Birmingham led to the first homicide in Birmingham in the new year. The victim in the shooting has been identified as 32-year-old Stacey Flournoy.

Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham Police Department said officers arrived at 3838 39th Court North to find Flournoy unresponsive with gunshot wounds, while another person had already been transported to UAB Hospital via private vehicle.

Flournoy was taken to UAB and pronounced dead upon arrival. The other victim is expected to recover.
