Missing Birmingham Teen Found Dead In West Jefferson County
A missing Birmingham teen has been identified as the body found near Bayview Lake in west Jefferson County.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A body found near Bayview Lake in western Jefferson County Monday has been identified as missing Birmingham teen Sean Caribe Avant Jr. Jefferson County deputies said they found Avant's body just after noon on Mulga Loop Road.
Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham Police Department said Avant was reported to have been in a car with a friend and dropped off at an unknown location between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday.
Deputy Chief David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said an autopsy will be performed Tuesday to determine how Avant died.
