FAIRFIELD, AL — Miles College is about to receive the largest single donation in the school's 122-year history. And that donation is not coming from an alumnus, but from one of the most famous Alabama natives in the country in NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, a WBRC report said.

Barkley, a native of Leeds and an Auburn University alumnus, has donated to other Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the past.

“It’s great that Mr. Barkley thinks enough of Miles College to donate a million dollars. This gift lays the foundation to launch our $100 million dollar comprehensive campaign,” said President Bobbie Knight, Interim President of Miles College.
