BIRMINGHAM, AL - Some tragic news came out of the Highland Park area of Birmingham this past week, when a worker at a construction site fell to his death. Also this past week, Birmingham's NAACP leader Hezekiah Jackson was suspended by the organization pending a hearing regarding his involvement in a scandal involving former lawmaker Oliver Robinson.

Man Falls To His Death At Construction Site On Highland Avenue
A construction working at a new apartment complex being built on Highland Avenue fell several stories to his death Thursday afternoon. Dog Rescued From Hot Car In Trussville Parking Lot
Just two months after a dog died from being locked in a hot car in the Trussville Walmart parking lot, Trussville police rescued another dog from a hot car in the Walmart parking lot Wednesday. Charges are pending against the owner of the vehicle.
Crestline Residents Concerned About Park's Upkeep
At a special Crestline Neighborhood Association meeting Thursday, residents discussed concerns over the city's maintenance of Crestline Park, namely that Birmingham does not mow the park as often as needed, which has made the park - at times - unusable.
