Food Festivals In Birmingham Are Plentiful In September

Here are five food and beverage festivals coming up in the next few weeks in the Birmingham area.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - As the legend of Birmingham's culinary scene continues to garner nationwide attention, some fantastic food and beverage festivals come to the Magic City this month. While some are annual favorites, others are happening for the first time.

Here are five festivals in September in the Birmingham area that promise to please the palate:

Taste of Shelby County; Inverness Country Club, Thursday, September 13: There will be vendors from all over Shelby County and the surrounding area offering a taste of their specialty dishes from their menus at the event. Vendors include restaurants, caterers, and a myriad of treats for you to enjoy.

Trucks by the Tracks; Railroad Park, Sunday, Spetember 16: Birmingham's best food trucks will gather at Railroad Park, serving up everything from hot chicken, specialty burgers & tacos to fruit bowls, popsicles, Italian ice and gourmet ice cream sandwiches. It's Birmingham at its best, with lawn games and activities set up throughout the park. Live bands will take to the stage as everyone enjoys the city's best mobile cuisine.

St. George Middle Eastern Food Festival; Saint George Melkite Greek Catholic Church, September 27-29: The 37th annual event has become a Birmingham favorite.Sample some of the best Middle Eastern food, learn about the culture, music, dance and art of this region.

Western's Wine & Food Festival; Birmingham Zoo, Fri, September 28: There will be over 500 wines covering every varietal and price, plus 45 food vendors sampling their best local items. Pre-order wines at the show for super wine deals, ride the carousel, & see live animals frolic around. The best part is that all proceeds will be divided equally among these great local organizations: The Birmingham Zoo, The Emmet O'Neal Library, Junior League of Birmingham, East Lake Initiative, and UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Fiesta; Linn Park, Saturday, September 29: Fiesta, Alabama’s largest celebration of Hispanic culture and heritage, is pleased to announce its 16th annual festival. Over the course of its 16-year history, Fiesta has proven to be an excellent resource for our Hispanic community. The festival provides family-friendly fun for all ages. While the largest crowd can be found in front of the main music stage, Fiesta offers a wide assortment of activities, from storytelling to wrestling exhibitions. Music, dance, performing arts, visual arts, children’s activities, soccer, cultural education, authentic Latin food as well as community and health-related resources are all part of the event.
