An 18-year-old victim was pronounced dead after arriving at a Birmingham police station with gun shot wounds.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - An 18-year-old victim arrived at the Birmingham police station with gunshot woulds early Thursday morning, and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Birmingham Fire and Rescue teams responded to the precinct and the victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim has been identified as Carltez Clark, of Birmingham.

At approximately 12:39 a.m., a man drove to the department’s East Precinct on Red Lane Road and told officers the passenger in his car had been struck by gunfire. According to an Alabama Media Group report, the passenger was shot at another location while the two men were inside the car and, after the victim had been shot, the driver headed to the police station.

Investigators learned Clark was in a car that was traveling towards Center Point on Parkway East when a black male suspect in a black, mid-sized car pulled up beside the teen and started to shoot into his car. After he was struck, Clark reportedly told the driver to turn around and drive to the precinct.
