BIRMINGHAM, AL — Gov. Kay Ivey was in the news this past week when she announced that the mandatory face mask order she put in place in July would be extended into November.

Ivey cited decreasing numbers of new COVID-19 cases in the state as evidence that the mask order was working.

Also in the news, a Vestavia Hills doctor was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted of possessing, producing, and attempting to produce child pornography.
