Missing Homewood Man Found Alive
Former Homewood pastor Sid Burgess, missing since Saturday, has been found alive.

WINSTON COUNTY, AL - While many missing persons cases do not end happily, the most recent one in the Birmingham area has, apparently. Sid Burgess, a 70-year-old Homewood man who had been reported missing since leaving for a hiking excursion Saturday morning, has been found alive.
Reports Tuesday said rescuers in Winston County are assessing his condition, but that Burgess is alive, conscious and breathing. "Mr. Burgess has been located and his condition is being assessed before we attempt to bring him out," the Winston County Sheriff's office said in a statement.
Winston County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Bryan Kirkpatrick said Burgess was found by White Creek Falls early Tuesday afternoon - about 1 p.m. He had a little bit of food with him and had been drinking creek water to stay alive.
