Birmingham man pleads guilty in 2024 quadruple homicide (abc3340.com) — A Birmingham man has agreed to a 30-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to intentional murder in the 2024 shooting deaths of four men at a College Hills car wash. In exchange, prosecutors will dismiss capital murder, robbery and other charges. The plea brings a measure of closure in a case that shocked Birmingham, including one killing carried out in front of a child.

Comedian and Actor Lil Duval Brings His Multi-City 'Camp Duval' Tour to Birmingham (birminghamtimes.com) — Lil Duval is bringing his interactive 'Camp Duval' tour to Birmingham on September 24, with a live podcast at Yo Mama's downtown followed by a film screening at Premiere Cinemas on Lakeshore Parkway. Residents can see his new horror-comedy, learn about his independent distribution approach, and be part of the project before it hits major streaming platforms around Halloween.
   

3. Bulldogs Earn 3-1 Victory in the Battle of Birmingham (samfordsports.com) — Samford volleyball earned a 3-1 home win over UAB in Birmingham, rallying after dropping the first set behind strong performances from hitters Ally Cordes, Maggie Kalisz, and Brianna Hamilton. The Bulldogs now sit at 3-7 and open conference play at the Pete Hanna Center on Thursday, Sept. 24, giving local fans another chance to support them in person.
   

4. Bentonville native chasing soccer and music dreams (4029tv.com) — A University of Alabama at Birmingham soccer player is building a music career alongside her athletic life, recording songs and sharing them online while based in Birmingham. She describes how pursuing music has given her confidence beyond the field and a creative outlet her teammates enthusiastically support. Her story highlights chasing big creative dreams without leaving Birmingham behind.
   

5. Watch: Circa Survive perform live for the first time since 2022 (lambgoat.com) — Circa Survive has reunited and is back on the road, with fan-shot footage already circulating from their first show since 2022. Their tour includes a Birmingham stop at Furnace Fest on October 10, giving local fans a chance to hear rarely played songs live alongside favorites from across the band's catalog.
