Police Make Arrest In February Homicide

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Devonte Reddick in February.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — An arrest has been made in a 6-month-old homicide case in Birmingham. Police arrested Melvin Charles Morris, 41, of Montgomery and have charged him with the murder of Devonte Reddick.

The homicide occurred February 6 on Dogwood Lane in East Birmingham.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said Morris was apprehended in Nashville by US Marshalls and extradited back to Birmingham.

Morris has been charged with capital murder and attemptwd murder, and is being held at the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
