Reported Coronavirus Death Total In Alabama Passes 100
More than 600 coronavirus cases have been reported in Jefferson County, with 15 reported deaths.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Alabama Department of Public Health reports 106 coronavirus deaths, with 15 of those deaths in Jefferson County. Total cases in the state surpassed 3,600 Sunday, and more than 600 cases have been reported in Jefferson County.
As of Monday afternoon, Jefferson County reported 615 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, out of more than 5,600 tests. The ADPH has reported 15 deaths in Jefferson County.

Laura Kowalczyk, UAB's Vice President of Supply Chain and Support Services, said Monday that supplies are still needed and conservation of said supplies is important.
"Our challenge is that we continue to need procedural gowns, respirators and N95 masks," Kowalczyk said in a press conference Monday. "We have to continue to be mindful of how we conserve our resources."

Kowalczyk said said the reuse strategy at UAB is only for the N95 respirators, and that is based on the ability to sterilize them and on the FDA's guidelines.
UAB epidemiologist Dr. Rachel Lee said UAB Hospital has diagnosed more than 150 COVID-19 patients and currently has 39 in-house confirmed patients.
"We are in a stage where we're not sure what will happen after April 30," Lee said. "I think what we'll see is a new norm, but we may have to cut back on hugs and shaking hands. We'll know more after April 30, but we're preparing at UAB for a surge of cases if that does happen."
