Roosevelt City Murder Victim Identified
A McCalla man has been identified as the victim in one of four Birmingham homicides in 24 hours.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A 30-year-old McCalla man has been identified as the victim in a murder that occurred in Roosevelt City Wednesday, one of four homicides that day. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Brandon Lee Wilson. Wilson was the father of a young daughter.
At about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a report of shots fired in Roosevelt City, and found a man dead from gunshot wounds sitting in a crashed SUV. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates told Alabama Media Group Friday that Wilson died from the gunshot wound, not injuries sustained in the crash.
Wilson was one of four homicide victims Wednesday, which brings the total number of Birmingham homicides in 2018 to 81. (For more updates on this story and free news alerts for your neighborhood, sign up for your local Patch morning newsletter.)
