Seasick Records Moving From Crestwood
One of Birmingham's most popular independent record stores is moving from its Crestwood location.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — A popular independent record store is moving from its current location in the Crestwood Shopping Center to a new spot in Avondale. Seasick Records, which originally opened in Avondale in 2013, will move to the former Family Dollar location near Cahaba Brewing Company, according to the Birmingham Business Journal.
Newman's Classic Cuts, the in-store barber shop at Seasick, will move as well.
The move comes on the heels of the closure of Charlemagne Records, and along with Renaissance Records still in 5 Points South, Seasick remains one of only a few independent record stores left in Birmingham.
