Shooting Outside Birmingham Nightclub: Suspect In Custody
A shooting outside a Birmingham nightclub in November killed one victim and injured three more. A suspect is now in custody.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A suspect has been arrested and charged with capital murder in a Nov. 24 shooting in Birmingham that claimed the life of a Florence, Alabama, man. The incident occurred outside a nightclub on 15th Street West.
Police say 19-year-old Laeric Kejuandre Bailey has been taken into custody and is being held without bond. He is charged in the death of Fredrick Asher.
Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham PD said officers from the West Precinct responded to a call of shots fired at the scene just after midnight that Sunday morning. Upon arrival, officers reportedly located three victims suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Williams said a fourth victim — later identified as Asher — was found to have suffered a life threatening injury and was transported to UAB hospital by Birmingham Fire & Rescue for treatment. Approximately two hours later, investigators received information that the victim had succumbed to his injury and was pronounced dead by hospital staff.
"Investigators found that the shooting occurred after patrons were made to leave the club after a fight," Williams said. 'The suspect drove past the location in a dark vehicle and began to fire at patrons as they stood in the parking lot."
