BIRMINGHAM, AL - In the Birmingham metro this past week, some positive news came out of the Birmingham Design Review Committee meeting, as the design concept and site plan for Protective stadium - the new 45,000-seat stadium slated for downtown Birmingham - were approved. This was just one of the top news stories covered by Patch during the past week, a week that saw the UA School of Law drama continue, and an all-night police chase resulted in an arrest.

UA Releases Emails Detailing Culverhouse Conflicts

After several days of national media reports that University of Alabama donor Hugh Culverhouse Jr. was given back his $21 million donation because of his opposition to the Alabama Legislature's abortion ban, the University of Alabama System released emails between school officials and Culverhouse detailing a history of meddling by Culverhouse and demands that his money be returned.

Suspect In All-Night Manhunt Faces Multiple Charges

A manhunt that lasted all through Monday evening into Tuesday morning resulted in the arrest of a suspect who has bow been charged with multiple offenses.

Design Concept Approved For Birmingham's Protective Stadium

Mississippi Fugitive Found At Birmingham Gas Station
