BIRMINGHAM, AL — As April ended, so did Gov. Kay Ivey's statewide stay-at-home order, as the state's economy began its first steps toward reopening. Not all businesses are open, and most are open with social distancing restrictions.

Alabama Attorney General questioned the constitutionality of Birmingham's mandate that masks be worn in public in the city limits, and wrote a letter to mayor Randall Woodfin asking him to reconsider.
