Suspect Arrested In Murder Of Woman In Ensley
The Birmingham PD has made an arrest in a September 23 homicide in Ensley.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Birmingham Police Department has made an arrest in a September 23 homicide that resulted in the death of 37-year-old Tiyesha Carson.
Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham PD said a murder warrant has been obtained against Terrence Watkins, 37, of Birmingham. Watkins is being held at the Jefferson County Jail.

Officers from the West Precinct responded to a Shot Spotter call in the 1300 block of Avenue V early in the morning of Sept. 23. While responding, officers received additional information of a subject behind a residence in the 1300 block of Avenue V. Officers arrived and found Carson in the rear of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived and transported Carson to UAB Hospital for treatment. Investigators later received information that the victim had succumbed to her injury and was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
