Suspects Charged In Fatal Shooting In Southtown

A 20-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged in a shooting death Friday in Birmingham's Southtown community.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Two suspects have been charged in the shooting death of Tyrese LeRichard Morrow Friday in Birmingham's Southtown community. Juanderius Mar’Quez Woods, 20, and Jehudijah Davis, 23, are each charged with capital murder.

The shooting occurred in the 900 block of 24th Street South just before 2 a.m. Friday. Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said officers discovered Morrow unresponsive suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue reported to the scene and pronounced Morrow deceased.

Investigators learned that an additional person was transported from the scene to UAB Highlands by personal vehicle with life-threatening injuries. Officers received information that a physical altercation occurred prior to the shooting.

Davis was arrested Friday after an extended search by police, and Woods was arrested a while later in Ensley. They are charged with capital murder in Morrow's death and attempted murder in the shooting of the other victim. Both are being held in Jefferson County Jail without bond.
