Suspect Charged In Sunday Night Homicide

A 22-year-old Birmingham man has been charged with capital murder in the death of Gjamal Antonio Rodriqcus.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A suspect has been arrested and charged with a murder that occurred Sunday night at 102 Shawnee Lane. Darius Frazier, 22, is charged with capital murder in the death of 27-year-old Gjamal Antonio Rodriqcus.

Rodriqcus was one of two shooting victims on the scene, both of whom were hospitalized after the shooting. Rodriqcus, the brother of Carolina Panthers lineman Mario Addison, was pronounced dead at UAB Hospital shortly after arrival. The second victim is expected to recover from her injury. Frazier is charged with attempted murder in the second victim's shooting.

Investigators learned that the Rodriqcus and Frazier were involved in a heated argument prior to the shooting.

Frazier will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail where he will be held without bond.
