Suspect Identified In Monday Night Homicide: Police

Police have identified a suspect in the shooting death of 47-year-old Cheri Twilley Monday night.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A suspect in the shooting death of 47-year-old Cheri Twilley Monday night has been identified as Adam Isom, 26, of Birmingham. The shooting also left another victim injured.

Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham Police Department said the shooting occurred around 7:45 Monday night in the 1600 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue. The incident began as a confrontation at a nearby convenience store, according to police.

Williams said after the confrontation, the suspect fired into the victims’ vehicle while stopped at a stop sign. Officers were later informed that Twilley had succumbed to her injury and was pronounced dead by Princeton Hospital staff. The second shooting victim is expected to recover from his injury.
