Tarrant Jail Inmate Suicide: Family Files Lawsuit
The family of a man who committed suicide in the Tarrant City Jail in 2018 has filed a lawsuit against the city.
TARRANT, AL — The family of a man who hanged himself in a Tarrant City Jail cell last year has filed a lawsuit against the city. David M. Farley was found dead in his cell Aug. 1, 2018.
Officers arrested Farley on a charge of disorderly conduct. Farley, authorities said, was intoxicated and an argument erupted at his home. Reports say he was told to go back into his home, but when he emerged from his house, he was arrested.
After he was booked and sent to his cell, a dispatcher spotted Farley trying to take his own life on surveillance monitors and jailers and medics responded to his cell. He was found dead after hanging himself with his clothing.
