Alabama Head Football Coach Nick Saban says freshman quarterback Tua Tagovailoa gave his team a spark Monday night.
ATLANTA, GA - Following Alabama's overtime win in the National Championship Game against Georgia, Alabama coach Nick Saban was asked about the decision to swap quarterbacks at halftime. Saban said pulling Jalen Hurts, who started at QB the entire season for the Tide, for true freshman Tua Tagovailoa when Alabama was down 13-0 was to provide a "spark" for the Alabama offense.
