New Roy Moore Accuser Claims He Assaulted Her When She Was 16
Attorney Gloria Allred held a press conference today with her client, a woman who says Roy Moore assaulted her when she was a minor.

NEW YORK, NY - Another woman has come forward with allegations that U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore sexually assaulted her when she was a minor. Beverly Young Nelson, 57, who was introduced by her attorney Gloria Allred, said Moore attempted to sexually assault her when she was 16.
Nelson said she met Moore while working at the Old Hickory House, a restaurant off U.S. 431 in Gadsden, where Moore was a regular customer. Nelson said Moore flirted with her often, but added "I did nothing to encourage his flirtatious behavior. I was accustomed to men flirting with me." Nelson said Moore even signed her high school yearbook, and had the yearbook with her at the press conference.
Moore's message in the yearbook said, "'To a sweeter, more beautiful girl, I could not say Merry Christmas. Christmas 1977. Love Roy Moore, Old Hickory House'...He signed it: Roy Moore, D.A.”

Nelson said one particular night, Moore offered to drive her home from work. It was on this night, Nelson said, Moore took her to a secluded area in his car and parked, where he then grabbed her breasts, groped her and attempted to force Nelson's head to his crotch. Nelson said she fought him off, and after she either fell out of the car or was pushed out, Moore sped off, but not before telling Nelson that if she told anyone about the incident no one would believe her because of his position in the community.
"I was terrified. He was also trying to pull my shirt off. I thought he was going to rape me. I was twisting, I was struggling, and I was begging him to stop," she said. "At some point, he gave up. He then looked at me and he told me, he said, 'You’re just a child,' and he said, 'I am the district attorney of Etowah County, and if you tell anyone about this, no one will ever believe you.'"

Moore, who has denied claims by four other women who said he pursued them sexually and romantically when they were underage and he was in his 30s, has insisted that the recent accusations against him are politically motivated and untrue. In a CNN report, Moore denied Nelson's accusations. "I don't even know the woman," he said.
Many Republican leaders nationally have said they will not support his run for Senate if the allegations are true. One of Moore's accusers said she was 14 and Moore was 32 when Moore touched her sexually and made her touch him.
Many Alabama Republicans have said they will vote for Moore regardless of whether or not the allegations are true.
