Woman Charged In Assault Of Mother, Daughter With Car

A woman has been charged with attempted murder after she tried to run over a woman and her daughter in a McDonald's parking lot.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Police have identified and charged the driver of a vehicle that intentionally hit a mother and daughter in the parking lot of a Birmingham McDonald's restaurant.

The incident occurred May 23 when the victims became involved in a dispute with Cortensia Hall, who is accused of intentionally hitting them with her car. According to the report, the mother spit on the windshield of Hall’s car during the dispute before the assault happened. Afterwards, Birmingham Police responded to the scene.

The daughter sustained minor injuries while the mother was taken to the hospital where she was sedated with a small bleed in her head. She is expected to recover.

Hall is being held at the Birmingham City Jail until she is transferred to the Jefferson County Jail on a $40,000 bond. She is being charged with two counts of attempted murder.
