Woman Formally Charged In Failed Bank Heist
A 24-year-old Birmingham woman has been formally charged for her attempted robbery of a Forestdale bank.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A 24-year-old Birmingham woman has been charged following a robbery attempt Wednesday at a Forestdale bank. Rachel Camille Calhoun has been charged with Attempted Extortion 1st Degree and Attempted Theft 1st Degree.
The charges come after Calhoun walked into a Regions Bank branch on Tomahawk Road in Forestdale Wednesday morning and presented the manager with a note demanding $6000.00.

The note indicated that, if he complied, he would be rewarded with a sexual favor. If not she would accuse him of sexually assaulting her. After a 911 call, deputies were on the scene almost immediately and located Calhoun still in the bank. She was taken into custody for questioning and subsequently arrested.
Calhoun remains in the Jefferson County jail with bond set at $10,000.
