Educators say celebrating these choices strengthens Cullman’s future workforce and shows families there are many meaningful options after graduation.
   

4. Testing the berry best: Auburn scientists evaluate strawberries for Alabama fields (cullmantimes.com) — Strawberry lovers in Cullman can thank Auburn University researchers who are testing dozens of berry varieties to help Alabama growers deliver better fruit to markets like the Festhalle Farmers Market. Their multi‑year trials show longtime favorite Camarosa still leads the pack, with newer cultivars like Victor, Sensation, Felicity and Warrior emerging as strong alternatives for yield, sweetness and disease resistance.
