• Herbert O`Neal Pierce (gulfcoastmedia.com) — Fairhope is mourning the loss of Herbert O’Neal “Herb” Pierce, a World War II veteran, former local business owner and devoted member of First Baptist Church of Fairhope, who died at home on June 11. Loved for his humor, faith and dedication to family, he once ran Herb’s in Fairhope and drove trucks into his 80s. A graveside service will be held June 22 at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort.
