HOOVER, AL — A Brookside police officer arrested October 29 in Hoover for public intoxication has been charged with two counts of harassment. Lieutenant Bo Savelle was charged with the additional offenses this week.

Savelle, 32, was charged by Hoover police with public intoxication at Dave and Buster's restaurant after witnesses at the restaurant said Savelle was harassing customers at the restaurant and Hoover police arrived at approximately 10:30 p.m. to find Savelle to be "intoxicated to the point of being a danger to himself or others."

Savelle was booked into the Hoover City Jail and released at 8:16 a.m. the following day on $500 bond.

Brookside Police Chief Mike Jones said last week that Savelle has been suspended from duty pending the outcome of an investigation.

"We expect our officers to maintain professional conduct at all times, including when they are off duty," Jones said. "If he is found guilty of these accusations, he will be held accountable for actions."
