The Hoover City Council passed the Sunday Brunch Ordinance, which will allow restaurants to sell alcohol starting at 10 a.m. on Sundays. Previously, alcohol sales were only permitted after noon.
The tragic death of a two-year-old girl in Hoover has now produced a guilty verdict, as a 21-year-old man has been found guilty in the 2017 death of the toddler.
More than three years have passed since Iraq veteran Mike Gilatti was murdered in his home in Lake Cyrus. However, his memory will be forever preserved in the city limits of Hoover as the Alabama Highway 150 bridge has been renamed in his honor.
Hoover Student Charged After Threatening Message
A student in the Hoover school system has been charged by Hoover police after sending a threatening message to a fellow student. The 15-year-old student has been charged with making harassing communications.
Medical West To Build New Hospital In McCalla
Although Hoover had expressed interest in trying to lure UAB's Medical West hospital from Bessemer, the UAB Health System approved a move to McCalla instead. Hoover remains the largest city in Alabama without a hospital.
