At 9:42 Wednesday morning, Hoover PD officers responded to a robbery in progress at BB&T Bank, located at 4705 Meadow Brook Road, the same branch robbed earlier in June. Just like the June 7 robbery, a white male wearing a baseball cap and bandana covering his face entered the bank and jumped over the teller counter.
According to a report by the Hoover PD, the suspect grabbed an unknown amount of cash and attempted to leave through the front door. One of the bank managers approached the suspect and after a physical altercation, the suspect dropped the money and fled into the parking lot. He got into an older model gold Lexus driven by a black male and fled the scene.

Approximately 50 minutes later, the same two suspects robbed a Regions Bank branch in Graysville. Shortly after the second robbery, F.B.I. Safe Streets Task Force agents were able to apprehend the white male after he was dropped off at his residence in Mulga. The black male suspect has also now been identified and taken into custody by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies and F.B.I. agents.
Hoover Police Captain Gregg Rector said there has not been a bank robbery in Hoover since 2015, which makes it strange that these two happened in the same month. Rector said the suspects are expected to be formally charged today.
