2. Nature journaling class series encourages curiosity at Aldridge Gardens (hooversun.com) — Hoover residents can sign up now for a free nature journaling series at Aldridge Gardens, with sessions running from September through December. Instructor Amy Sides will guide all skill levels through relaxed, creative prompts that focus on observing everyday nature, with materials provided and advance reservations required due to limited space.
3. Registered sex offender arrested after using fake name to rent courts at Pelham rec center (wbrc.com) — Pelham police arrested a registered sex offender who allegedly used a fake name to rent basketball courts for kids' training sessions at the city rec center. Officials emphasize he had no employment or affiliation with city programs, and note Hoover police previously charged him in 2018 after a similar situation near Hoover, with the current case now handled by the Shelby County DA.
4. See all of Thursday's Week 2 Alabama high school football scores (al.com) — Hoover High's football team opened Week 2 with a strong 21-7 win over Opelika, keeping the Bucs firmly in the 6A state conversation.
