Arrests Made In Death Of Birmingham Teen
Four people are in custody in connection with the October slaying of 17-year-old Stanley M. Turner.

SHELBY COUNTY, AL — Four people are in custody in connection with the Oct. 20 death of Ramsay High School student Stanley M. Turner. Turner was found dead in a vehicle parked at the Sonesta Extended Day motel in Shelby County.
Turner's death was ruled a homicide during the commission of a robbery.

Jakobi C. Witherspoon, 18, from Pleasant Grove, who is charged with murder and robbery 1st degree, and is being held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000.
Aja Kylandrea Brenee Whitt, 17, from Pleasant Grove, who has been charged with murder and robbery 1st degree as an adult, and is being held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000.

Jamaal Antowain Phillips, 17, from Pleasant Grove, charged with murder and robbery 1st degree as an adult. He was arrested and subsequently released from the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000.
An unnamed male juvenile also charged with murder and robbery 1st degree, being held in the Shelby County Youth Detention Center.
"We are always saddened by the loss of life as a result of a violent crime, but even more so when that crime involves a teenager," Shelby County Sheriff John Samaniego said. "Our hearts are with the friends and family of Stanley Turner II, and we hope these arrests give some comfort to the family."
