• Hueytown opens West Rock Mountain Nature Preserve with 6 miles of trails (abc3340.com) — Hueytown has opened the new West Rock Mountain Nature Preserve, giving residents over six miles of hiking and biking trails just off Dee Hendrix Road. With overlooks like Ware’s Ridge and plans for future horseback riding trails, city leaders say the preserve is meant to boost outdoor recreation, family time, and community pride right in Hueytown.
