Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:
- A New Century student was named a winner of the 100 Rise Global Awards. Ella Duus was one of 100 individuals chosen to receive lifetime access to higher education scholarships, and funding for her future endeavors. Duus created a tool that can analyze Twitter accounts and make a chart of their political leanings, which will go live soon! (WAAY)
- Huntsville received a federal grant that will allow them to upgrade bus travel in the city! There will be new buses and routes, and a new bus station!(WAFF)
- Some of the Madison County Probate Court’s will have to stop some of their operations Friday. They will be moving over to new software. Not everything will be unavailable, but things like passport and notary applications will be suspended during the transition. (themadisonrecord.com)
- Over the weekend, three Revolutionary War patriots were honored with a grave-marking ceremony. Five organizations co-sponsored the event at the Mt. Paran Cemetery. (themadisonrecord.com)
- The road that connects Sunset Acres to the rest of Priceville is finally being repaired! This road has been a flooding issue for years, and there is currently gravel on parts of the road that you are encouraged to drive over so it gets packed down. (WAFF)
