Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:
- A 2.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Hazel Green Saturday at around 5:16 a.m. There are a few individual reports of light shaking, but it likely wasn't felt very far away from the epicenter. (Volcano Discovery)
- The lawsuit aiming to stop the transfer of the circuit judgeship from Jefferson County to Madison County was dismissed Friday. The lawsuit was supported on behalf of a Jefferson County candidate for the position before it was transferred. The judge found that the move was made legally by the Judicial Resources Reallocation Committee. (WHNT)
- Science Application International Corp. (SAIC) has partnered with Alabama A&M University to have two students in the school’s College of Engineering, Technology and Physical Science become beneficiaries of a $100,000 scholarship fund. One student has been chosen already, but the university is in the process of selecting the other student. (Yellowhammer News)
- Buc-ee’s in Athens has started the hiring process for the store coming later this year! All positions come with benefits and hourly wages vary from $16-18. (WHNT)
