- The moon rocket built by Boeing has arrived at Kennedy Space Center. It was unloaded from the barge yesterday and will be part of the Artemis I unmanned mission. (Huntsville Business Journal)
- At UAH, 33 inventors from all over the school have received awards for 21 patents. A virtual ceremony to award plaques to show the university’s appreciation of the researchers’ hard work was held on April 16. The inventors were from two colleges, six departments, and three research centers within UAH, according to Jim Steele. (UAH)
- The Trash Pandas will allow non-profit organizations to volunteer in their concessions stands to fundraise. Groups have to have between 6-30 people and everyone has to be at least 16. They will also be required to provide a 501c3 IRS determination letter and their W9. (WZDX)
- Huntsville’s Historic Preservation Month campaign is “Saving Places.” Several places in Huntsville are featured this year, including Lowery House and the Museum of Art. There will be blog posts and virtual tours through the city’s blog and social media and there are several events throughout the month to celebrate. (HuntsvilleAL)
- Alabama A&M’s head coach, Connell Maynor, has agreed to a four-year extension of his contract. He has had a successful three years, and has led the team to their first SWAC Championship appearance since 2011. Maynor is currently one of 16 finalists for the Eddie Robinson Award for the best coach at the FCS level. (HBCU)
