Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Before the Huntsville City Council voted on the budget, the Huntsville Police Citizens Advisory Council sent them letters of their recommendations. These recommendations included more training for 911 and hotline personnel and tracking calls and outcome data. Most of these seem to not have been directly addressed, which has caused some to criticize the city council. (WHNT)
  2. Alabama A&M has announced that they will name their new president selection sometime next week! There are three finalists they are working to decide between. (alreporter.com)
  3. The North Alabama Coalition for the Homeless is starting their annual drive for blankets and cold weather gear September 30 and will continue through the end of the year. Items must be for adults and can’t be worn out. There are several drop-off locations in Huntsville and another location in Madison. (WHNT)
  4. Have you made the trip to the Botanical Garden to see Night Blooms? This is the LAST weekend to experience the Garden before Night Blooms is over. (Huntsville Botanical Garden)
  5. Lowe Mill’s 2021 Comic Con is this weekend! Today will feature a cosplay showcase at 5 p.m., but don’t miss the whole day! Parking at Lowe Mill will be $10. hosts 2021 Comic Con (WHNT)
