Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- Sgt. Risner, the officer that lost his life in the line of duty last week, was able to serve people one last time. His organs were donated and all found recipients. He is expected to be escorted back to the Shoals today. (WAAY)
- Daniel K. Wims has been named the new president of Alabama A&M. He will be the 12th president at the university and was chosen in a 7-4 vote of the university’s board of trustees. (AL.com)
- Huntsville Women’s March for women’s reproductive rights had about 400 attendees. According to the march’s organizers, over 650 of these marches took place across the country yesterday. (WHNT)
- Alabama A&M is hosting a Jelani Day memorial event. It will be October 6 at 6:11 p.m. on the quad. (AL.com)
- The first annual Rocket City Auto Show was hosted Saturday at the VBC. The proceeds made from the show went to several different charities in the North Alabama area. (WHNT)
