- Amazon has announced a new fulfillment center in Huntsville-annexed Limestone County. The new facility will bring 500 full-time jobs to the area and will span 1 million square feet. Bulky and larger items will be handled at this location. (WRBL)
- Mayor Battle has been dropped as a defendant in the lawsuit from the family of Nigel Shelby, a gay Huntsville student that died by suicide in 2019. The City of Huntsville and Huntsville High School’s assistant principal, Lauren Woltjen, have also been dismissed as defendants. According to Paul Gattis, Huntsville City Schools board of education, Superintendent Christie Finley, and school administrators Aaron King, Jo Stafford and David Whitener are still listed in the lawsuit. - The Market at Hays Farm has announced the addition of several new restaurants and businesses coming to the shopping center. Construction for Hays Farm should be finished in late fall, and tenants will be given access to their spaces this summer. (WAAY)
- Stephanie Felker, a doctoral candidate at UAH, has been selected by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to receive a Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Individual National Research Service Award. Felker currently works in a HudsonAlpha lab and will receive a stipend, tuition funding and $2,500 in child care funding as part of being a recipient of this grant. (Patch)
- Drake State is offering a free 10-week course for students in their dual enrollment program. The course is Moon Rises Over Alabama, which will look at Moon exploration, lunar settlement, work on projects, and have NASA lunar program experts give guest lectures. (WHNT)
