Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- Many residents at The Reserve at Research Park have been left without water since Christmas Eve. Five days later, they have not been given a timeline on when repairs will be made to restore their water access. (WAAY 31)
- Municipal offices with the City Of Huntsville will be closed Monday, Jan. 2 in observance of New Year's Day. Transit will close at 3 p.m. Saturday, HAS and rec centers will operate normally Saturday. Everything will reopen at their normal times Tuesday morning! (Patch Press Release Desk)
- There is currently a scam going around locally where Huntsville Utilities customers will be called and told that they are late on payments and their service is being disconnected. They will tell you that they need payment immediately over the phone. This will never be a real call, because HU doesn't call to threaten disconnection. Make sure that more vulnerable populations, such as elderly people you care about, are aware as they can be more susceptible to this sort of scam. (WZDX)
