Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:

  1. The Artemis 1 launch was rescheduled yesterday morning after an engine issue. A second attempt has been scheduled for Friday, and the Space and Rocket Center has scheduled another watch party! Passes for yesterday will not be accepted, and new reservations will open soon. (U.S. Space and Rocket Center)
  2. Arts Huntsville and the City of Huntsville are looking for local artists for the Fitness Court at Legacy Park. The art will need to be in a 2D medium and the chosen artist will get a $5000 commission for the work.   3. The Huntsville High School volleyball team won last week’s Ironman Tournament! This is the 38th year for the competition and Huntsville High was the host school. They went 9-1 for the week with eight straight game wins. (AL.com)
  4. The Madison County School System is looking for parents and students to apply to be on the Desegregation Advisory Committee. They want the committee to have representation from all five feeder patterns in the district. Applications (found here) are due September 15 and can be mailed to the Board of Education or emailed to rballard@mcssk12.org. (WAFF)
