Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:

  1. The Space and Rocket Center is getting ready to display the “Astro” Spacelab flight hardware that has been refurbished by NASA retirees and volunteers. The hardware will be on display for at least two years before it gets moved to the Smithsonian. (themadisonrecord.com)
  2. aAthens firefighters had to rescue a woman after she decided to go for a swim in the water tower. The woman broke into a fence barrier and was seen by a retired Athens police officer, who reported the situation. (WAFF)
  3. First Baptist Church in Huntsville has decided to reinstate some of their COVID policies. They will be requiring daily temperature checks for staff, social distancing for the congregation, and masks for children ages 2-11 and staff that work with that age range. (WHNT)
  4. Free 2 Teach received a $10,000 donation from the Madison County Commission. The money came from the chairman;s budget and will help them restock their shelves to help teachers keep their classroom ready for the needs of their students. (WHNT)
  5. American Airlines concluded their investigation on the allegations of a teacher facing discrimination in Huntsville. They found that an error was made by a staff member, but the error was not discrimination. The teacher has expressed disappointment in the airline’s reaction. (CBS 42)
