Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- There have been questions popping up about the fairness of the redistricting plan that was recently proposed. One concern is that minorities are not getting an opportunity to be represented in a meaningful way for the votes of City Council. Make sure to give your input before the deadline! (WZDX)
- Athens City Schools has decided to change their masking policy to “masks preferred.” Masks will still be required on buses, and the current policy on lunch visitors was continued. This will go into effect Monday. (WHNT)
- Starting Tuesday, traffic on I-65 South will be rerouted to Huntsville-Browns Ferry Road at Exit 147. The road work should be finished after Thursday.(WAAY)
- NASA’s new Artemis program is being celebrated with a new craft beer trail in Huntsville! Keep an eye out with Downtown Huntsville, Inc. for featured drinks each week! (WHNT)
- Huntsville’s new City Council President is the son of well-known Civil Rights leader, James Meredith. John Meredith was voted in unanimously, and says his top priority as the president will be to restore the public’s trust in the council. (AL Reporter)
