Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Bonnaroo, the music festival in Manchester, TN, has been canceled for this year. It was scheduled to begin tomorrow, but due to the storms, the site is flooded and waterlogged and won’t be fit to hold the event. (AL.com)
  2. The Huntsville City Council is working on figuring out what redistricting the city will look like. Adding new councilmembers will not be an easy process, especially with ensuring minorities are on the council at the same percentage of representation. The city is accepting redistricting plans right now! (WAFF)
  3. The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library has announced that their music streaming platform will be launched next year! This will be a platform for local musicians and will put 50 albums online every year. (WHNT)
  4. Huntsville's Jazz in the Park is coming back September 5! The concert will start at 5:45 p.m. and will be virtually streamed on multiple platforms. (WZDX)
  5. Madison City School parents are writing system leaders over female students being dress coded unfairly. Over 100 females have been pulled out of classes so far this year at Liberty Middle School due to leggings, which are not directly banned in the code of conduct, but a rule requiring modesty might be used.
