Polly Padden's informative presentation will describe Harper Lee's life, family, and the real-world people and events that inspired the author to write her 1961 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. Set in the 1930's, Lee's book reflects the tumult of those times, but it is also a product of societal challenges in the 1950s and 1960s when Lee first began her work. Bridge Street Town Centre

To celebrate Earth Month, Bridge Street Town Centre, a Tanger property, invites the community to donate their used sneakers – any kind, size or condition – to support its new recycling program. Shoppers can give back by donating pairs of shoes at the donation station inside the Cinemark Lobby&nbsp;from April 22–29 during theatre operating hours. Shoes collected will be recycled through Tanger’s partnership with <a href="https://tracking.us.nylas.com/l/39ec05420d694d52b0dad4b29a984449/1/c12e613a8d1f858c72d9bacd95aa60972a18338daab6cb95a074d20d41b6b73d?cache_buster=1776796355" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Sneaker Impact</a>, repurposing them into rubber material for future soft play surfaces and other usable products. 
On April 29 from 5–7 p.m., the sneaker drive will culminate with Bridge Street’s Earth Month Celebration: Reuse. Replant. Recycle. Guests can enjoy themed crafts, yard games and live jazz music in the Cinemark Courtyard. Additional recycling opportunities at the event will include:
·Denim recycling with Madewell - receive a $20 coupon for every pair of jeans donated (no limit). All denim is accepted for recycling; only jeans are eligible for the offer.*
·Clothing and Textile recycling with H&amp;M - bring any clean clothes or textile to donate and receive a special 15% off coupon.* 
**Guests must also donate a pair of shoes to Sneaker Impact to receive these offers.

National Arbor Day is a nationwide celebration of the importance of trees and their impact on our communities. We’re celebrating Arbor Day with a 5k Race and 3k Sapling Fun-Run on Saturday, April 25, 2026!&nbsp;This event features a staggered start.
<ul><li>5K Race (chip-timed, certified course) – Begins at 8:00 a.m.</li><li>3K Sapling Run (not timed) – Begins at 8:30 a.m.</li></ul>
Both races will take participants through the scenic paved and gravel roads of Huntsville Botanical Garden and the US Space and Rocket Center.
Pets, headphones, and non-registered participants over the age of three are not permitted on the course. Strollers are welcome for the 3k Sapling Run only. All participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.&nbsp;

will encourage you and help you find and nurture your own creativity.
This experience begins on Saturday, April 25 at 9 am, doors open at 8:30am.
Our
 retreat space includes a beautiful outdoor "classroom" as well as 
stations inside the lovely historic home where you'll be able to find a 
cozy corner to write or draw. There's also a swap room, where you can 
trade any supplies you would like to bring for something new to you!
Lunch is provided, and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
