Dorla Evans and Penny Sumners, members of Twickenham Town Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, will share information about these men and explain why Madison County attracted more than any other Alabama County.

Huntsville Botanical Garden

National Arbor Day is a nationwide celebration of the importance of trees and their impact on our communities. We’re celebrating Arbor Day with a 5k Race and 3k Sapling Fun-Run on Saturday, April 25, 2026!&nbsp;This event features a staggered start.
<ul><li>5K Race (chip-timed, certified course) – Begins at 8:00 a.m.</li><li>3K Sapling Run (not timed) – Begins at 8:30 a.m.</li></ul>
Both races will take participants through the scenic paved and gravel roads of Huntsville Botanical Garden and the US Space and Rocket Center.
Pets, headphones, and non-registered participants over the age of three are not permitted on the course. Strollers are welcome for the 3k Sapling Run only. All participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.&nbsp;

 having the whole day to just be creative. This day is packed with 
opportunities to unblock your creativity, try new things, enjoy a warm 
and relaxed atmosphere, and receive creative guidance from someone who 
will encourage you and help you find and nurture your own creativity.
This experience begins on Saturday, April 25 at 9 am, doors open at 8:30am.
Our
 retreat space includes a beautiful outdoor "classroom" as well as 
stations inside the lovely historic home where you'll be able to find a 
cozy corner to write or draw. There's also a swap room, where you can 
trade any supplies you would like to bring for something new to you!
Lunch is provided, and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
We'll start promptly at 9am. Here's the schedule:
<ul><li>Class time: 9:00am-10:30am</li><li>Break 10:30am-10:45am</li><li>Class time: 10:45am-12:15pm</li><li>Lunch: 12:15-1:30pm</li><li>Class time:1:30pm-2:45pm</li><li>Break 2:45- 3:00pm</li><li>Class time:3:00pm-4:30pm</li><li>Finish up: 4:30pm</li></ul>

In this laid back group for young writers, teens can do the following: work on their writing in a group setting, do writing exercises; discuss their writing or writing in general with other teens; receive feedback on a 3-6 page typed, double-spaced &amp; printed excerpt of their writing.
