Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. A chemical spill at the University of Alabama in Huntsville caused the Material Science Building and the Optics Building to evacuate temporarily yesterday. Both buildings were reopened safely within a couple of hours and there were no injuries caused by the spill. (WHNT News 19)
  2. LaJeromeny Brown, the man accused of killing Huntsville Police Department officer Billy Clardy III is Set to be in court today for a case status update. I’ll let you tomorrow if anything happens! (WHNT News 19)
  3. The founders of Twickenham Fest have announced on Facebook that the festival is ending after 13 years. They thanked everyone from community partners, to local officials, to the performers and patrons. No reason has been given as of now for why the festival is ending. (AL.com)
  4. NASA’s Super Guppy cargo plane was back in Huntsville yesterday to bring the Orion Stage Adapter back to the Rocket City to be placed in storage. The silly-looking plane brought back this piece of the Space Launch System because its oversized cargo hold is designed for larger pieces like the stage adapter. (WHNT News 19)
  5. Huntsville Utilities announced a water main break on Hobbs Road yesterday. The repairs were expected to take 2-3 hours, but there was no official follow up from them on social media to confirm the repairs were completed. (WHNT News 19)
