City Council Meeting Arrest + Lee Greenwood

  1. A man was arrested for disorderly conduct at last night’s city council meeting. He was among a group that was protesting by chanting to interrupt the meeting. (AL.com)
  2. Phillip Rigsby, a pharmacist and business owner in the community, has announced his candidacy for Alabama State Representative District 25. This seat is currently held by Rep. Mac McCutcheon, who is not seeking reelection. (themadisonrecord.com)
  3. After only a week, Breeze Airways has announced they will be cutting the number of flights in and out of Huntsville in half as of July 29. They say that it will help minimize delays due to fleet growth and the unpredictability of summer weather. (AL.com)
  4. Lee Greenwood and Breland Homes have partnered with Helping A Hero to build a home for a veteran in north Alabama. This will be part of Greenwood’s All-Star Salute to Lee Greenwood in October. They are currently accepting nominations. (themadisonrecord.com)
  5. Huntsville Animal Services is overfilled! As of writing, there are four dogs at the shelter that will be euthanized at noon if they are not adopted, fostered, or pulled for a sleepover. If you've got space for a new friend, permanent or temporary, consider going down and helping out! (Patch)
