Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- Limestone County currently has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state. As the fastest growing county, leaders have said one of the main reasons they are able to maintain this is the variety of businesses they’ve worked to bring in. (WAAY)
- Huntsville Hospital, like many in the state, is experiencing an unusual level of overcrowding. They’ve started using emergency plans to make sure things are being processed as quickly as possible ahead of the holidays so waiting for paperwork or labs isn't the reason someone is still in the ER. (WHNT)
- The City of Huntsville approved a construction contract with the Public Building Authority for the new city hall. Bidding will open November 30 for cost estimates to find out which agency will be in charge of building the new city hall. (WAAY)
- Cheesecake Factory had their first routine inspection recently and failed to break a streak of recent low scores at Bridge Street. They got a score of a 70, which included violations like picking food up off the ground and putting it back in storage to use. Several other restaurants at Bridge Street, including P.F. Chang’s and Connors, have scored very low in the past few months. (WAFF)
- There are several organizations around the area that are giving away Thanksgiving food today ahead of the holiday! If you or someone you know aren’t able to afford a Thanksgiving meal, there are several options available. (WAAY)
