Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:
- City magistrate Daniel Cranor was found not guilty of menacing yesterday in a bench trial. According to the City of Huntsville, he is still on administrative leave for an unrelated reason and will need to go through a disciplinary hearing through the city before he is able to potentially return to work. (WHNT News 19)
- City lawyers are set to appear before the U.S. District Court today in the William “Ben” Darby case to explain why the city should be dismissed as a defendant. Darby’s criminal case is set to go before the Alabama Court of Criminal appeals to try to get his murder conviction overturned starting November 10. (WHNT News 19)
- According to the Peach Cobbler Factory’s Facebook post, they're all moved in! There are last minute construction details to complete before they open, but it should be in September! (WAAY)
- Theatre Huntsville is kicking off their historic 25th season September 16! The show “Dreamgirls” will be shown the weekend of the 16-18 and 22-25 at the VBC Playhouse as the first show of the season! (WHNT News 19)
